🎯 Why Is My Tire Pressure Slightly Higher Than the Preset Value?

Updated on May 28, 2025

Applies to Models:
βœ… Zephyr S3
βœ… Zephyr S5
βœ… Vortex S6

βœ… A Slight Difference Is Normal

After your ZEPHYR S3, ZEPHYR S5, or VORTEX S6 finishes inflating and reaches the preset pressure, you may notice that the actual tire pressure is 0.5 to 1.5 PSI higher than what you set.

This is completely normal and expected — it’s part of the product's intelligent design.

🧠 Why It Happens

There are a few reasons for this slight overinflation:

  1. Built-in Compensation
The inflator is calibrated to slightly exceed the preset value on purpose. This compensates for any minor air loss when you disconnect the nozzle after inflation.
  2. Component Tolerances
Small variations in sensors and valves can also contribute to a minimal pressure difference.
  3. Air Loss on Removal
When detaching the hose, it's natural for a small amount of air to escape. The system is designed to anticipate this and slightly overinflate so that your tire ends up as close as possible to the target pressure.

πŸ› οΈ How to Adjust Tire Pressure

All ETENWOLF inflators include a precision air chuck with a built-in pressure release valve, allowing you to fine-tune tire pressure easily.

To release excess air:

  • Locate the brass button on the side of the air chuck.
  • Press gently to release small amounts of air.
  • Monitor your pressure reading as you adjust.

Alternatively, you can use the included multifunctional air chuck from your accessory set to:

  • Release excess air
  • Make precise adjustments
  • Maintain optimal tire pressure

πŸš— Why Proper Tire Pressure Matters

Keeping your tire pressure accurate helps:

  • Improve fuel efficiency
  • Enhance driving comfort
  • Extend tire life
  • Maximize road safety
